Translation: Kothbiro - Ayub Ogada

Hah
Hahye hahye aye hahye

Oh mother
If you can hear me
The rain is coming
Bring the cattle home

Oh mother
If you can hear me
The rain is coming
Bring the cattle home

Hah
Hahye hahye aye hahye

Oh mother
If you can hear me
The rain is coming
Bring the cattle home

Oh mother
If you can hear me
The rain is coming
Bring the cattle home

Hah
Hahye hahye aye hahye

Oh these children
What are you doing?
The rain is coming
Bring the cattle home

Oh these children
What are you doing?
The rain is coming
Bring the cattle home

Hah
Hahye hahye aye hahye

  2. Übersetzungsbüro englisch I chanced upon this word and loved it and when i googled it I chanced upon your piece. i love this too. but it got me thinking ... what word could best describe such a sentiment ... not just a translation for the word and i felt the Urdu word Shiddat is a good trans-lingual synonym. it means a combination of love, devotion and 'all that you have' in complete honesty! does that make sense?

    1. Hi... "Shiddat" literally means intensity.

  3. Just heard from my nephew in Nairobi...Ayub Ogada who wrote this song KOTHBIRO passed away either today or yesterday(today:2nd February 2019)...very sad news...but may the soul of Ayub Ogada rest in eternal peace...KOTHBIRO is a very beautiful song and sung with great tenderness and featured during the End Credits of the Film: The Constant Gardener.
